We knew vet care could be better.
So URvet Care was born.

We love our pets like they’re members of our family. Sometimes more. So, why don’t we expect them to have the same level of medical attention that we do for ourselves? Why don’t pet parents get the support. This is why we’re changing the industry. We’re on a mission to ensure pets get the same level of care, compassion, and support as people.

One visit at a time.

We're providing pets with the same level of care, compassion, and support that we would expect for ourselves and empowering their people by providing them the tools needed to maximize their pets' quality of life.

URvet Care is more than just a veterinary clinic; it's a profound declaration of love for animals and a reflection of the trust they deserve.

At URvet Care, we began not merely as a business idea but a heartfelt calling. Guided by personal struggles, empathy, and a desire to achieve the extraordinary, we embarked on a mission to reshape the world of animal healthcare.

Moving from the suburbs to New York City, we were confronted with a veterinary landscape that felt cold and impersonal. The local practices seemed stuck in the past, lacking the neighborly touch we cherished. When our family dog, Mason, was injured, the lackluster follow-up magnified our dissatisfaction. However, it was our daughter’s harrowing experience with a staff infection during a routine surgery that truly laid bare the chasm between human and veterinary medicine. It was clear; animal healthcare needed a revolution.

-Evan & Aimee Stoopler

Bring the best of human care to the veterinary world, with all of it's compassion, support, and state-of-the-art technology.

At URvet Care, we envisioned a comprehensive healthcare facility where your pet’s primary care, emergency, and specialized needs are met under one roof. We wanted to create a place where both pet owners and pets felt comfortable, understood, and supported.

The outcome of our determination is URvet Care, where medical innovation meets empathy. Our waiting rooms reflect the warmth of a home, ensuring both you and your pet feel at ease. Behind this inviting facade, you’ll find a state-of-the-art hospital armed with cutting-edge technology, guaranteeing the highest standard of care in a sterile environment. Better Care, When You Need It

Dr. Andrea Shliselberg

DVM, Senior Veterinarian

Dr. Shliselberg has been practicing for almost a decade with a small animal rotating internship at VERG and a surgical internship at Long Island Veterinary Specialists. She loves emergency/critical care work and emergency surgery since these are the patients that need help most and the most expeditious. Never one to turn her back on animals in their time of need, when not at work in NY you can find her traveling abroad aiding in animal welfare projects around the globe.  Stateside, Dr. Shliselberg is an avid writer and passionate runner.  We are thrilled to welcome Andrea to our Leadership and Management team.

Dr. Brenden Lemp

Growing up in New York, Dr. Lemp grew up in a virtual zoo with dogs, cats, snakes, birds, and turtles. His grandma even knew he was destined to be a veterinarian, declaring it from the time he was 6-years-old.

Quite naturally, he pursued veterinary medicine and graduated from Lincoln Memorial University in Tennessee. He has completed multiple specialty internships and excels in emergency medicine.

Dr. Lemp is beyond excited to join URvet Care. He strongly believes in our values and feels we’re bringing a new standard to veterinary medicine.

His special interest is in surgery and he’ll use his experience and knowledge in specialty medicine to help us make life better for animals.

You might find him cheering on his favorite sports team, kayaking, or spending time with friends and family. He is as enthralled by animals as he has always been. His two magnificent pups, named Zucca and Hayes, and two inquisitive cats, named Mojo and Precious, can vouch for that.

Dr. Alexander Valenti

Dr. Valenti is thrilled to be practicing in New York city, the place where he grew up and loves. Dr. Valenti completed his undergraduate education at Cornell University, he graduated with Distinction for his work in canine genetic research and finally earned his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Ross University. Alex has worked for the ASPCA and has maintained a strong desire to provide veterinary medicine to all underserved populations. Alex has a passion for emergency medicine and critical care. We are thrilled to welcome him to the team at URvet Care, his warm personality is one that makes not only his co-workers, but our pets and their owners love working with him.

Dr. Kristin Kutscher

If you look up “well-rounded” in the dictionary, Dr. Kutscher’s photo would be there. She received her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine. Additionally, she has a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Barnard College, Columbia University.

She’s a member of

  • Veterinary Medical Association of New York City (VMANYC)
  • New York State Veterinary Medical Society (NYSVMS)
  • American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA)

She is also a USDA-accredited veterinarian and her special interests are in internal and geriatric medicine.

Too bad she’s an underachiever.

Dr. Kutscher has a dedicated heart for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. She especially has a soft spot for the Annual Light the Night Walk and works as the leader of Team Mario-New York City in memory of her late husband.

As an avid “cultural-hopper” in NYC, she loves attending Broadway theatre productions and museums. She hangs her hat in Greenwich Village with her daughter and two cats, Zoe (a diabetic) and 15-year-old Timmy.

Dr. Barrack has worked in a range of environments including small animal clinics and shelters to wildlife conservation centers. She has also worked in an equine surgical practice and at Belmont and Aqueduct racetracks both in private practice and as a regulatory official. It was there she became interested in traditional Chinese medicine and then went on to study at the Chi Institute becoming a certified veterinary acupuncturist, certified veterinary herbologist, and food therapist before ultimately forming her own concierge medical practice, Animal Acupuncture, based in New York City.

Recently named the “Best Veterinary Acupuncturist in New York” by New York Magazine, and known for her comprehensive yet non-invasive treatment style, and highly attentive patient care, Dr. Barrack is also a frequent media contributor. She has leant her expertise to Chewy, CNN, Fox5, PetMD, and Reader’s Digest, among other publications and media outlets. She is very excited to bring her unique, integrative approach to medicine to URVet by combining the best of both eastern and western therapies for animals under her care.

When not caring for your beloved pets, Dr. Barrack is a soulcycle enthusiast, voracious reader, and enjoys spending time with her fiancé, Roman.

Dr. Jennifer Lopez

To say Dr. Lopez is experienced would be an understatement. She has worked at the University of Florida, was part of the team that developed the canine model for atopic dermatitis, and has been published in several highly esteemed journals such as the American Veterinary Journal of Research

She received her DVM degree from St. George’s University School of Veterinary Medicine in Grenada, West Indies.

Her varied veterinary interests include dermatology, surgery, and emergency care. She loves to interact with pets and their guardians and came by her love for animals honestly…She grew up with a blue-and-gold macaw and seven Rottweilers!

Too bad she’s an underachiever.

As a scuba diver and avid traveler, she enjoys learning about the histories and cultures of the world and going on safaris to Africa. Already having visited South Africa, Kenya, Tanzania, and Rwanda, she hopes to go on a river safari in Mozambique and Namibia soon. (As long as she doesn’t stay away from us for too long, we’re fine with that.)

Her three fur babies are two French bulldogs, Roxy Razzle Dazzle and King Pickle Dickle, and a miniature red poodle, affectionately known as “Poodle.”

Stephen Cameron

Manager of Practice Administration

For the past 15 years Stephen has been helping pets, and the people that care for them, on the Upper East Side of Manhattan. For 10 years he was a beacon of hope for homeless cats and dogs at the ASPCA. His Animal Welfare journey started almost 20 years ago as the Manager of the Animal Care and Control Team’s Client Services, located in Philadelphia, PA.  Cats and dogs have always been a big part of my life, so when a Board member came to me, while volunteering for the PSPCA, and asked me to become the Manager in their Animal Shelter, I knew that my life managing retail stores would be over.

He believes in treating people with respect, understanding, care and compassion, no matter what the circumstances, is what the world needs. ‘We are all equal and we can all learn from one another.”

Stephen enjoys skateboarding, music, biking, and health and fitness.

When not spending his time thinking how to better care for animals, his free time is devoted to enjoying all the wonders that life has to offer with his wife and 2 children.

Evan Stoopler

Evan Stoopler worked on Wall Street before he and his wife, Aimee, were hit with the idea to start their own pet care clinic. After moving into Manhattan from Long Island, Evan and Aimee were on the hunt for a vet for their dog Mason, a 10 year old Maltipoo, who had hurt himself jumping off the bed. The vet they found upcharged them for anti-inflammatory drugs, gave an impersonal and incorrect diagnosis, as well as poor customer service start to finish. It was then that Evan saw an opportunity to provide New York City with the best medicine, best customer care and best customer service to the furry patient and the patient’s family.

Co-founders and husband and wife team, Evan and Aimee are thrilled to be disruptors in the veterinary care space, and are having fun while doing it. The duo works hard to find the best quality Veterinarians, Specialists, Practitioners, and Client Service Representatives – and want these friendly faces to care for your pets each time you walk into a URvet Care location!

This isn’t a transient practice, but a permanent home, and to teach, train, mentor and provide the best environment for all of their staff is a founding principle. The Stoopler’s are crafting a family pet practice that is old school medicine, the way we used to know it – with modern day technology and knowledge, and, like Mason, they only want the best for pets and pet owners citywide, and soon, nationwide!

Amy Bain

Chief Operating Officer

Amy comes to URvet Care with an extensive background in business – from management & ownership, to finance and beyond she has experienced it all in some capacity. Amy moved to New York from Texas in 1993 and began her career on Wall Street in 1995 soaking up everything she could. When she made the decision to leave the fast paced world of Wall Street behind to relocate to South Florida, she put on a different cap – Mom & Business Owner.

A mom to 3 daughters, she was a stay at home mom for a brief stint, but her work ethic called her back to work a few years later and she became the owner and operator of a 6-figure couture dry cleaning operation with multiple locations in South Florida. When her youngest was off to college she took a step back and decided to head back to Texas – where she currently lives with her husband, step-daughter, and 4 dogs – 3 Frenchies (Hutch, Milly, Murphy) & 1 Great Dane (Finn).

Aimee Stoopler

Ashley Bliss

Director of Operations

Ashley began her career in veterinary medicine as the head technician in a one doctor practice before pivoting to a six doctor AAHA-accredited hospital with demanding challenges. Thus, her aptitude in implementing the policies and protocols to ensure the gold standard of care of veterinary medicine emerged.

Upon arriving in NYC, Ashley brought her skills to the Schwartzman AMC and managed the care coordination in the emergency services department. She worked to unravel the red tape so commonly present in insurance claims and appeal processes with tenacity and skill.

Ashley abides by the mantra, “Do the best you can until you know better; when you know better, do better.” She considers lifelong learning an absolute priority, and believes that continuing education and training are what make good employees great.

Ashley loves all cats, dogs, and exotic animals, and believes that companion animals are entitled to the same quality of care that humans receive. She enjoys reading, traveling, and still fosters neonatal kittens – “bottle babies”; she has cared for five to six dozen of them to date. Most of all, she enjoys spending time with her wife and four cat children – Drake, Nicki Meownaj, Laserboy, and Biscuit.

Lacey Shapiro

Strategy and Operations Manager

Growing up in New England, Lacey spent her favorite childhood days riding a chocolate brown Horse named Doll. Since her first days at the barn Lacey treasured life surrounded by all the animals including barn cats and dogs who called the stables home. While keeping things organized onboard the fast moving NYC startup URVet Care, you can catch her strolling Manhattan with her friends animals, including Jax. (Our Chief Creative Officer Amanda’s dog). Lacey’s diverse background working construction at Post Brothers, and in professional sports including the MLB, NHL, and NBA, has landed her the endlessly dynamic position at Urvet Care focused on strategy and operations.

When you visit one of our locations, Lacey may likely be one of the first people you meet welcoming you with her trademark smile and welcoming personality. We are thrilled to have her on-board.
