Chief of Staff

DR. Andrew Karmin

Dr. Karmin is a second-generation veterinarian and has been immersed in medicine as a very young boy.

He received his DVM degree from Cornell University and continued his education by being mentored by his father, Dr. Leo Karmin and many extraordinary veterinary specialists, many of whom are close friends of his today.  His dad, Dr. Leo Karmin was the founder of Bellerose Animal Hospital which opened its doors in 1946 and quickly became a well respected pillar of veterinary excellence.

In 1984, Dr. Karmin became the sole owner of Bellerose Animal Hospital. Under his leadership and high practice standards Bellerose Animal Hospital grew to be a five doctor and ten LVT practice which garnered tremendous respect within the veterinary community.  The bar at Bellerose was set very high and now we are honored to have Dr. Karmin bring that high standard to URvet Care.  The excellence in medical care that Dr. Karmin strived for earned him the respect and praise of his own team, many of whom have joined us at URvet Care to re-create the high standards Dr. Karmin has been known for.

Dr. Karmin has served on the executive board of the NYC Veterinary Association and chair of its Continuing Education Committee, and past President.  He presently serves on the Executive Board of the Long Island Veterinary Medical Association and has served  as a  past NYS examiner of licensing DVMs.

Dr. Karmin is married to his wonderful wife Ann, has two beautiful daughter’s and four beautiful grandchildren.

He has completed 26 marathons (14 in NYC) and enjoys cycling, playing guitar, painting, and sketching.

We are thrilled to have Dr. Karmin lead our team at URvet Care, his continued guidance and mentoring truly makes this world a better place for all.
