DR. REBECCA HABER
Born and raised in New York, Dr. Haber graduated from the UMass Amherst with a Bachelor’s in Pre-veterinary science and then went on to attend the University of Wisconsin-Madison for veterinary school. Having been surrounded by animals her entire life – namely, newts, axolotls, frogs, 3 cats, 2 rabbits, 2 ferrets, 6 hamsters, 2 dogs and a chinchilla – anyone that knows her well knows that she set out to become a veterinarian from the age of 6 and has never looked back.
After first exploring emergency medicine, Dr. Haber decided that a general practice-urgent care setting would be a perfect fit for her. Dr. Haber is proudly Fear Free Certified and has a special place in her heart for Feline Behavior and Internal Medicine. She is passionate about setting forth a minimally stressful setting where our feline patients can feel at ease – to the best of our ability – during times of high stress and illness, thereby strengthening the human-animal bond.
In her free time, Dr. Haber enjoys painting, walks in nature, and making DIY home projects for her cats’ entertainment. She currently has 2 five-year-old cats named Prozac and Paxil (“Zac” and “Pax”) due to their natural antidepressant effect on people.
We are thrilled to have Dr. Haber join our URvet Care family and look forward to having meet our pet and pet owners!
